international women’s day

celebrating a strong woman

On March 8, we celebrate women who shape, move, and open up spaces—women who inspire through creativity, self-determination, and visibility. One of them is Charlotte Adam, an illustrator and artist from Berlin.

Seeing the World Differently

Her painting thrives on curiosity, humor, and attention to detail. In her studio, she creates works from moments and souvenirs – memories of travels and encounters with people who mean a lot to her. Using colours and materials, she creates her own playful universe full of questions.

This space reveals how ideas flow, encounters inspire, and creativity comes to life. There is something to discover everywhere: sketches in the making, materials that carry ideas, and works that are currently growing. Some thoughts are implemented immediately, while others rest in the archive, only to return later in a new form.

For Charlotte, freedom and visibility are not only a privilege but also a responsibility, while in many countries women are punished for showing themselves as feeling, questioning, demanding human beings with all their facets.

Translating thoughts and feelings into forms and enduring one's own contradictions: soft, hard, loud, and quiet sides are allowed to coexist—in her and in her work. She processes the past, captures the present, and, despite the challenges of the world, dares to look ahead with hope, thus opening up spaces where exchange and reflection become possible.

Charlotte shows that strength, vulnerability, and self-determination are not mutually exclusive—and that this attitude, in art as in life, opens up spaces for exchange, reflection, and inspiration.

Her work is closely linked to encounters: family, friends, colleagues, and collectors shape her practice. This exchange inspires her, sustains her, and opens up spaces for reflection and growth. For Charlotte, networking with other women is not only a source of support, but also a way of life: GIVE TO GAIN—women empower women, growing together.

Moments, thoughts, and feelings become visible in her works. Every brushstroke, every canvas, every idea speaks of curiosity, openness, and the courage to ask questions—even uncomfortable ones. The works invite viewers to take a closer look, pause, and engage with the small, often surprising details that carry her work.

Charlotte draws on the strength of her personal experiences and encounters with inspiring people, receiving support primarily from women—her sisters, friends, and mentors she has met throughout her career. They show her that strength, vulnerability, and self-determination are not mutually exclusive. Her work is born out of this network of trust, inspiration, and mutual support, which gives her stability and allows her to remain authentic.

souvenirs collection

HANRO x Adam is a collaboration that combines iconic design with artistic flair. In the limited-edition unisex capsule collection Souvenirs, classic HANRO bestsellers meet the artist's characteristic motifs, opening up a new visual dimension of timeless styles.

The collection is inspired by fleeting moments, special encounters, and places that linger in the memory. This creates a dialogue between tradition and contemporary curiosity—between precise craftsmanship and creative freedom. Art meets craftsmanship, heritage meets the present.
